Admitted Students

Registering for Courses

Entry of desired courses in the application form does not register admitted students for those courses. All admitted students must register for their desired courses after receiving their admissions letter, following the steps below.

1. Submit Health Immunization Requirements.

Visit the Health Services Page for details here. You may submit immunization documentation from another College, University, or New York State High School to meet these requirements. You will not be able to register for classes until your immunization requirements have been received, it will take about 48 hours for the Health Services Office to process your documentation.

2. Activate your Columbia UNI.

Three to five business days after receiving your admissions letter, you can activate your Columbia UNI here.

3. Log on to your LionMail account

Use your UNI and password to ensure it is functioning properly. All University communications including bills will be sent to your LionMail account.

4. Register for classes using Student Services Online

For detailed instructions, please refer to the Registration Instructions. Registration for all summer classes will begin on February 26th. You can review registration deadlines for each session on the Summer Calendars. Please note that registration is not available on weekends or holidays.

Important note for international students: In order to be eligible for a student (F-1) visa, students who are not United States citizens or permanent residents must maintain full-time status by registering for at least 6 points of credit-bearing courses in any of the six-week sessions.
