2023 gave an opportunity to dig into a truly special collection in one of the Ivy League’s most celebrated institutions, Butler Library. Karen Green, curator for Comics and Cartoons and lecturer in English and Comparative Literature, led public faculty panels, movie showings, and exclusive tours.

In 2021, Josef Sorett, chair of Columbia’s Department of Religion and professor of Religion and African American and African Diaspora Studies, along with his students and fellow experts, led a tour of the music that reflects the spiritual and social experiences of Black Americans across generations.
