Art and Music Humanities has been a degree requirement for all College students and an integral part of the Columbia Core Curriculum since 1947, with courses that encourage analytical study through historical and cultural contexts.
New For Summer 2024: A joint Art & Music Humanities in NYC offering for matriculated students who wish to take both courses in Summer A. The linked courses will be taught by Professors Holger A. Klein (Department of Art History and Archaeology) and Peter M. Susser (Music Department), to provide a single cohort of students with a joint experience. Register for HUMA S1121 sec 004 and HUMA S1123 sec 015. Students will receive notification that they have been added to the respective waitlist. Once their names appear on both the Art and Music Humanities waitlists, their registration will be confirmed.
