Visiting Student Merit Fellowship
Take advantage of our Merit-Based Fellowship to further your academic goals this summer. If you’re enrolled in a summer visiting program or a CPA program and are taking two or more courses, you may qualify for a fellowship award of up to $5,000 to help cover your tuition. This fellowship recognizes outstanding academic achievements and supports your commitment to excellence in your studies.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be admitted to the Summer 2025 Visiting – Undergraduate, Graduate or Postbaccalaureate program, or the CPA in Critical Issues in International Relations, Human Rights or United Nations program.
- Students must enroll in two Summer Session courses and complete them in Summer 2025.
- Students should have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher when applying.
- Applicants are required to upload their current resume/CV.
- The Merit fellowship application requires the completion of three short answer essays.
- Columbia University employees and Veterans are not eligible*.

- The fellowship will be awarded during the 2025 Summer Session only.
Applications for the Fellowship will be included in the general Summer Session application. All applications must be submitted and completed* by the deadline in order to be considered.
*Completed applications consist of all required materials being submitted and verified. This includes international transcripts and language scores.
The deadline to apply is January 15, 11:59PM EST
Applicants will receive their decision 4-6 weeks after the deadline.
