Wall Street Prep: Economics, Finance & Analytics
The Wall Street Prep: Economics, Finance, and Analytics Focus Area is designed for students who want to gain a better understanding of finance, business, and the complexities of economic systems. This Focus Area is an excellent match for students interested in completing courses in preparation for graduate studies in business, actuarial sciences, quantitative studies, public affairs, and economics. Dedicated advisors assist students in customizing their curriculum to meet their personal, professional, and academic goals.
Visiting students enroll in two courses that can be completed in either one or two six-week sessions. Those who complete two courses from those offered in the Wall Street Prep: Economics, Finance, and Analytics Focus Area will receive a Certification of Participation and a Columbia University transcript.
The Wall Street Prep: Economics, Finance, and Analytics Focus Area leverages Columbia’s theory-meets-practice model by pairing coursework with specialized, exclusive co-curriculars.
Co-curricular activities may include:
- UN Tour
- One World Observatory
- Federal Reserve/Wall Street Tour
- Empire State Building Tour
Visiting students study alongside matriculated students at Columbia University and have the same access to top faculty at Columbia’s School of Arts & Sciences academic departments. In Summer Session B, students can also take advantage of on-campus housing and join a Living and Learning Community. This holistic program provides students a one-of-a-kind learning experience, offering the chance to study in the only Ivy League university in New York City while connecting with a cohort of like-minded peers.
