Russian Practicum
Through the Department of Slavic Languages, the Russian Practicum offers three intensive courses in the Russian language (Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced). Language courses accommodate high school, undergraduate, and graduate students as well as professionals with a variety of backgrounds and objectives for studying Russian.
Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Russian I are offered in Session H
Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Russian II are offered in Session R

To apply, follow the Summer Sessions application instructions for your admissions category:
Applicants should select “Russian Practicum” under “Program of Study” on the application and then complete a questionnaire within the application to indicate the level they plan to take.
Note:
Please check Vergil or the DOC for specific notes for each course. Students looking to take courses other than Beginning Russian I must contact the practicum director.
International students: The Russian Practicum Program is not I-20 eligible.
Tuition:
Russian Practicum courses are offered at a discounted flat rate per course. Tuition can be found under "Course-specific Rates" on the tuition pages.
Please check back frequently for updates, as Summer 2026 courses are added on a rolling basis. Registration opens on March 3.
